Ingredients

These no-bake bars are simple and fun because they require only a handful of ingredients.

marshmallow and butter melted in pot

Butter – Unsalted butter is recommended to keep the sweetness balanced.

Marshmallows – Use most of the marshmallows for melting, and reserve some mini marshmallows to fold in for gooey pockets. You can use large marshmallows for melting if you prefer.

Success Tips

  • Line the pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it for easy removal.
  • Lightly grease your hands or the bottom of a cup when pressing the mixture into the pan to prevent sticking.
  • Press gently — pressing too hard compacts and breaks the cereal, making the bars dense instead of chewy.

Storage tips

Wait to cut the bars until you’re ready to serve whenever possible. Keeping the treat intact helps prevent drying out.

Store bars—cut or whole—in an airtight container for up to 4–5 days at room temperature.

To freeze, wrap bars individually and place them in an airtight container; they’ll keep for about a month.
