Wow — it’s already the end of July. How did that happen? The year is racing by and I can hardly believe it’s been just over three months since I began this little blog.
Traffic to the site has grown a lot this month, and I’m so grateful to you, my readers, for visiting often, trying recipes and sharing such kind comments here and on Facebook. Your support keeps me inspired to create more family-friendly meals.
If there’s anything specific you’d like to see — recipes for a particular fussy eater, help with mealtimes, or ingredient swaps — please tell me and I’ll do my best to put together helpful menus and ideas.
Here are the top four most viewed recipes this month. Two of them are ice cream-style treats, which probably says a lot about the warm weather we’ve been enjoying!
Chickpea & Nutella Cookies — gluten-free cookies made from chickpeas, Nutella and peanut butter. They’re surprisingly good and you won’t taste the chickpeas.
Two Ingredient Ice Cream — a simple, healthy vegan “ice cream” made with just bananas and strawberries.
Peanut Butter & Banana Popsicles — another dairy-free frozen treat made from bananas and peanut butter.
Roasted Vegetable Wrap Pizza — a quick, easy pizza using a wrap for the base and topped with roasted vegetables.
On a personal note, it’s been a busy month at home. My tiny newborn isn’t so tiny anymore — Finn turned six months over the weekend and has suddenly become a proper little boy. We’ve started weaning, which has been a bit of a challenge so far, but I’m sticking with it and learning as we go.
My other little one is on summer break from pre-school, so we’ve been doing as many days out and playdates as possible to keep her entertained. We’re still perfecting the family selfie, but with any luck we’ll crack it by the end of the summer.
I’ve been loving a pair of pink and gold espadrilles from H&M that Triona from A Little Londoner recommended on her blog — they’re now reduced and a real bargain.
Also this month, Holly from Recipes From A Normal Mum published her cookbook. It’s full of simple, family-friendly recipes made with everyday supermarket ingredients. I’ve bookmarked so many dishes I’m keen to try — starting this weekend.
So that’s how July looked for me. How was your month?
