There’s something about serving a drink in a wine or cocktail glass that makes it feel special. On a recent Sunday when I wanted a treat but not wine, I poured this mocktail and instantly felt calm and cared for.

This Cran-Pomegranate Kombucha Mocktail is a simple, festive beverage made from a few accessible ingredients. It’s tart, lightly sweet, and delightfully effervescent—perfect for the holidays or any small celebration.

Gather a pretty glass, some red and green garnishes, and a bottle of kombucha to get started.

If cocktails are your usual go-to, this mocktail delivers the same celebratory feel without alcohol. I haven’t had a cocktail in years, but when I did I often reached for a cosmopolitan. This drink channels that tart, fruity balance—without the booze.

The base is a blend of cranberry and pomegranate juices combined with kombucha for a bright, bubbly finish. Fresh rosemary adds an herbal note that pairs beautifully with the red fruits. If pomegranate juice is hard to find, substitute extra cranberry juice for a similar flavor profile.

If kombucha tastes too vinegary for you, mixing it with fresh juices like these is a great way to mellow the acidity while adding natural sweetness. I prefer keeping the juice to a lighter ratio so the kombucha’s fizz and subtle complexity still shine through. Taste and adjust to your preference—add more juice if you want it sweeter.

I’m tempted to make a pitcher for my parents, who aren’t yet convinced about kombucha. There’s still time to win them over this season.

One of the keys to this mocktail is muddling. Press the pomegranate seeds and chopped rosemary in the bottom of each glass to release juicy, aromatic flavors before adding the liquids. No mortar and pestle? Use the back of a spoon and muddle gently.

Note: pomegranate seeds can be messy—expect a few red flecks while you prepare the drink.

For these photos I used a Cran-Pomegranate kombucha that complements the juices nicely, but any good-quality kombucha will work. Look for one you enjoy on its own—its flavor will be more apparent when mixed lightly with juice. Kombucha also contributes probiotics and B vitamins, which is a nice bonus during busy holiday weeks.

This mocktail is versatile. Make a pitcher for a party or scale down to a single serving for a quiet treat. To make it boozy, add a splash of vodka or your favorite spirit.
