MY 2025 GLUTEN FREE EASTER EGGS GUIDE

Chocolate lovers, rejoice — here is the updated 2024 roundup of gluten free Easter eggs available in UK supermarkets. Ahead of Easter Sunday (March 31, 2024) I checked Asda, Co-op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose to compile a list of Easter eggs that were gluten free at the time of publication.

This post is split into two sections for clarity: Gluten Free Easter Eggs and Gluten and Dairy Free Easter Eggs. Many mainstream Easter chocolates are naturally free from gluten-containing ingredients, but cross-contamination warnings such as “may contain” can make some products unsuitable for people with coeliac disease. Always double-check individual packaging before buying for someone who must avoid gluten.

Are Easter eggs gluten free?

Not all Easter eggs in the UK are gluten free, but many plain chocolate eggs are. Some products carry “may contain” warnings or include added components such as biscuit or wafer pieces that contain gluten. Use this guide to identify likely options, but always verify the label for the exact pack and batch you buy.

This guide is accurate at the time it was written, but recipes and manufacturing practices can change.
