Description
These Paleo Dark Chocolate Chip Brownies are a chocolate lover’s dream: deeply chocolatey, moist, and studded with slivered almonds and dark chocolate chips for texture and extra richness.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp honey
- 8 medjool dates, pitted
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips
- 3 tbsp slivered almonds
- 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
- Coconut oil spray, for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8”x8” baking dish with coconut oil spray and set aside.
- In a food processor, combine the pitted medjool dates, eggs, honey, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Process until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cacao powder, baking soda, sea salt, and cinnamon. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth and lump-free. Fold in the dark chocolate chips and slivered almonds. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the brownies are set. Allow them to cool completely, then refrigerate for about one hour to firm up before slicing. Serve plain or topped with a scoop of paleo-friendly ice cream or your favorite whipped topping.
Notes
- For a fruity twist, add a spoonful of mixed berry jam on top of each brownie before serving for a sweet-tart contrast.
