These secretly healthy chocolate dirt pudding cups will take you straight back to childhood!

If you grew up in the 1990s, these classic “dirt” pudding cups will likely bring back fond memories. A smooth, creamy chocolate pudding is topped with crumbly chocolate “dirt” and—optionally—playful gummy worms. Though they look like cups full of mud, of course they’re entirely edible and surprisingly easy to make with clean, wholesome ingredients.
The version below is lightly adapted to use clean-eating components and to be easily customizable. I added a hint of peppermint in my batch because I had extra fresh mint available, but the pudding is just as delicious without it. If you want to keep the dessert vegan, choose dairy-free milk and gelatin-free gummy worms, or skip the candy altogether and top with fruit or extra crumbles.
